Krispy Kreme will open its first store in Chile in April 2023 via new franchise partner Grupo Premier Chile. The Santiago-based franchisee plans to open more than 40 Krispy Kreme outlets across the South American country by 2028, with the first store to open in Chile’s Vitacura district.

Krispy Kreme operates more than 1,800 stores globally and is planning to enter seven new markets in 2023. Alongside Chile, the US donut and coffee chain will also debut in Switzerland and France this year. Krispy Kreme achieved 10.5% group sales growth in 2022 to reach $1.53bn.
Grupo Premier Chile also operates the Little Caesars Pizza restaurant chain across Chile. It is part of Mexican conglomerate Grupo Premier, which is involved in the restaurant, automotive and construction industries.
Krispy Kreme is seeking to enter seven new markets in 2023 and will open in Santiago’s Vitacura district ahead of debuts in Switzerland and France later in the year.
Geneva, Switzerland (March 29, 2023) – Krispy Kreme®, one of the world’s most loved sweet treat brands, has signed a franchise agreement with Glazed Holding Company SA, a Geneva-based franchise operator, which will open the first shop in Lausanne in Q2 2023.
Doughnut lovers will soon be able to experience the internationally acclaimed Original Glazed™ doughnut, along with other sweet treats and coffee, at the first Hot Light Theater Shop in Switzerland, located at Rue Pichard, in the heart of Lausanne. Guests will be able to witness the journey of the freshly made doughnuts from start to finish through the Doughnut Theater and will be able to eat their hot and fresh doughnuts immediately after they are made.

Krispy Kreme will make its debut in Jamaica in the first quarter of 2023 following an agreement with new Caribbean franchisee Restaurant Associates Limited (RAL).
The US donut and coffee chain will open a store in Kingston, with RAL planning to launch two further Krispy Kreme locations in the Jamaican capital next year. The Hot Light Theater shop will feature in-store windows showcasing the Krispy Kreme donut production line. “Adding Krispy Kreme to our portfolio of international brands is a great fit as we will now be able to provide our loyal guests with the perfect sweet treat experience,” said Lisa Lake, CEO, RAL Group.
Kingston-based RAL operates over 90 franchised stores of Burger King, Popeyes and Little Caesars Pizza across Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados. Alongside Jamaica, Krispy Kreme has signed franchise agreements to open in Switzerland, Costa Rica and Chile as well as a joint venture in France with Columbus Café & Co.
In October 2022, the company opened its first store in Jordan, increasing its presence in the Middle East following its steady expansion across Egypt. Krispy Kreme now operates 1,810 branded outlets internationally. In November 2022, Krispy Kreme posted 10% net revenue growth for its third quarter, with sales reaching $377.5m.
